FSC Library Transition FAQ
Here are some of the frequently asked questions we receive about the Yale Film Study Center becoming part of the Yale University Library:
Q: Is the Film Study Center located in the Library now?
A: No, we are still at 53 Wall Street on the lower level of the Whitney Humanities Center. We expect to move to Sterling Memorial Library in a few years.
Q: Are Film Study Center DVD, Blu-ray, and VHS holdings listed on Orbis now?
A: Not yet. Visit our Video Collection page to search our holdings.
Q: Does the Film Study Center now loan to Yale staff or alumni?
A: No, we still loan only to Students, Faculty, and Teaching Assistants. However, all members of the Yale community are welcome to view films at the Film Study Center.
Q: Can Film Study Center items be returned to other Library locations?
A: No, the items must be returned directly to our Circulation Desk during our business hours, as we have no drop-box or drop-off station.
Q: Can the Film Study Center facilitate Borrow Direct or Interlibrary Loan requests?
A: No, you should make arrangements through the usual Library channels if you wish to borrow from another institution. The Yale Film Study Center does not lend its material through Borrow Direct or Interlibrary Loan.
