Public Relations

The Yale University Archives seeks to collect documentation concerning the promotion of the university and its activities, projects, programs, and affiliated individuals. Specific topics of interest include:

  • The promotion of university activities, programs, projects, goals, initiatives, and events at the local, national, and international levels
  • Marketing and advertising campaigns
  • New policy, procedure, initiative development in any of the above areas

Archival Records

Examples of records of interest to the Archives, regardless of format:

  • Articles, press releases, and clippings
  • Meeting minutes
  • Photographs and audio-visual resources
  • Policies and procedures
  • Publications and websites (see Depositing Official Yale Publications)
  • Reports and analyses

Office of record

The Yale Office of Public Affairs, Office of Development, Office of New Haven and State Affairs and Campus Development, and professional schools maintain the record copy of documentation concerning public relations.
