The iconic Manuscripts and Archives reading room along the Wall Street side of Sterling Memorial Library will be closed during much of 2017 for renovation. During the renovation—beginning Tuesday, January 17, 2017 through late November 2017—we will provide all public services to researchers in the Franke Family Room, off of the Nave in Sterling Memorial Library. In 2020, the Hawaiian Mission Houses Historic Site and Archives (HMH) in Honolulu will celebrate the Bicentennial of its founding. A young Hawaiian prince, Henry Obookiah, who arrived in New Haven in 1809 and was educated by Yale students and alumni, began the rich association between Yale graduates and the Hawaiian Islands.
