United Way's Give Every Child A Chance campaign is scheduled to wrap up on January 31. Thus far, the Library staff has contributed $29,172. We are at 97% of the $30,000 goal!
In the Greater New Haven region, nearly 14,000 children under age 18 live below the poverty level; nearly 10,000 live in the city of New Haven. These children face unbelievable odds against their future success: poor nutrition, poor quality or no child care, and little stimulation or educational preparation that help to build readiness for education.
