Yale Day of Data: Innovation through Collaboration – Call for Presentations

The Yale Day of Data 2015 will host a day-long event held on the Yale campus at Kroon Hall on September 18. The planning committee is seeking expressions of interest for presentations. The theme for this year aims to highlight research collaboration with partners across Yale.
 
Presentations will focus on data produced and analyzed in research disciplines of all kinds, including:
 
·       social, economic, behavioral, and political data
·       genomic data and sequencing data
·       health and healthcare data
·       geospatial data

Student Research at Yale University Library

This first annual exhibit in the Sterling Memorial Library Exhibits Corridor highlights four Yale students’ exceptional research at the Yale University Library. The subjects represented are as diverse as the Yale Library collections and convey a combination of both complete and ongoing research. Students share key library resources important to their research ranging from online databases to favorite study spaces.

A celebration of the work of the Yale University Library

Join over 50 library staff in the SML nave on March 10, 1-4pm, for a showcase of some of the fascinating work going on behind the scenes at the Library. 

Over the last few years, the staff of the Yale University Library has been showcasing their work at an annual event sponsored by the Library Staff Appreciation and Recognition Committee (L-SARC). Because of the growing enthusiasm and positive feedback, the event is now being opened to the full Yale community and to the wider public.

Nine writers from four countries awarded $150,000 Windham-Campbell Prizes

The Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library has announced the winners of the 2015 Donald Windham-Sandy M. Campbell Literature Prizes at Yale. The writers, who hail from the United States, United Kingdom, Nigeria, and South Africa, were chosen confidentially in three categories — fiction, non-fiction, and drama. Honored for their literary achievements as well as their potential, the winners will each receive $150,000 to support their work.
