Study Carrels and Lockers

The Music Library offers study carrels primarily to graduate students in the Music Department.  Contact Kathy Mansi to request a carrel.

Need guaranteed access to books for your qualifying exams?

The Music Library offers a carrel reserve service. Carrel holders may reserve material for their carrels by bringing books or scores to the Circulation Supervisor. Material on carrel reserve may be checked out by Yale affiliates for 24 hours, and to faculty for three days.

Want to leave your books at the Library?

Lockers are available! Contact Kathy Mansi to request a locker.

Carrel Policy Statement: The library provides carrels for the convenience of advanced-degree music students working on long-term projects. Priority is given to those working on the dissertation or prospectus, or studying for qualifying exams. First- and second-year PhD students, visiting fellows, faculty, MMA students, and others may also apply for carrels, which will be assigned subject to availability. Carrels are for use by assigned persons only. Other users may use carrels that are marked as unassigned.
