Staff from Library Collection Services (LCS) were invited to attend a party hosted by the Beinecke Library on Friday, May 1, 2015. Billed as “the last party at 121 Wall Street” until the Beinecke re-opens in 2016 following extensive renovations, Friday’s celebration recognized the efforts of a wide spectrum of library staff who help to prep and move collections out of the building prior to the anticipated start of main construction on May 20th.  LCS has played a pivotal role in these preparations, accessioning and shelving over 90,000 Beinecke-owned items at the Library Shelving Facility over the past 13 months. LCS has also helped enable the renovation by efficiently handling the resulting dramatic increase in circulation of the Beinecke’s LSF-based holdings. The number of requests for Beinecke materials housed at LSF has almost doubled since FY 14, and should top 10,000 items by the end of the current fiscal year.
