A.I.: Artificial Intelligence (Steven Spielberg, 2001, 146 mins)
Spanning 2,000 years, this sci-fi fairy tale follows a robot programmed to love (Haley Joel Osment) as he struggles to win his human mother’s acceptance, and seeks the Blue Fairy in hopes of becoming a real boy. Based on a long-simmering project by Stanley Kubrick, A.I. was hailed by Mark Kermode as Spielberg’s “enduring masterpiece”. 35mm print from the Yale Film Archive.
