Archives Advisory Group

Reports To: Special Collections Steering Committee

Committee Charge: Develops and vets recommendations about strategic directions and practices for the management, description, and discovery of archival materials at Yale Library, with the aim of improving staff and user experiences. Fosters and sustains a strong community of practice for the stewardship of archival materials, in developing competencies, sharing solutions and expertise, and aligning processes and practices. Advocate for the infrastructure and needs prioritized by the community of practice. Advises sponsors, AAG advisor, and product owners on policies, enhancements, priorities, and projects related to the stewardship and discovery of archival materials.

Frequency of Meetings: Monthly or as needed.

Member Selection Method: Members are appointed by the Director of Special Collections Technical Services, Beinecke Library, in consultation with the Chair. Members are people who directly manage, describe, and support discovery and access to archival material.
