Microform Reading Room

Equipment

The Microform Reading Room offers equipment that allows users to read materials in microfilm, microfiche, and microprint formats.  Researchers have an option to create digital or printed paper copies free of charge.

Current equipment includes:

Three ScanPro 2000s and One ScanPro 3000:

These digital machines connect to PCs with powerful software to view microfilm and microfiche and produce clear, detailed digital images. The PowerScan software includes an auto-scan feature, capable of scanning and digitizing an entire reel of microfilm automatically. Files can be saved to a thumb drive, emailed, or transferred using Yale's ITS file transfer service, available to current students, faculty, and staff.
