Fall Film Schedule

Announcing a new season of screenings from the Yale Film Archive, all free and open to the public! This fall, we'll bring you more than 20 films from around the world—including two films with live musical accompaniment—with a few more surprises coming soon.

Unless noted, screenings take place on the lower level of the Yale Humanities Quadrangle, located at 320 York Street, between Elm and Grove in New Haven. Doors open half an hour before each screening.

Wisemania

Wisemania is a multi-year exploration of the works of documentarian Frederick Wiseman, drawing on the collection of more than two dozen 16mm prints the Yale Film Archive acquired from Wiseman’s Zipporah Films in 2024. All screenings are free and open to the public.

O Canada

The O Canada film series brings you a selection of features and shorts from the True North strong and free. Spanning nearly 60 years, the series incorporates nonfiction, drama, comedy, and experimental animation, and includes films in English, French, Inuktitut, Arabic, and Persian. All screenings are free and open to the public.

Five for Fonda

The Five for Fonda series features a selection of films starring or about actor Henry Fonda, in celebration of the 120th anniversary of his birth. All screenings are free and open to the public.

Summer Screening Schedule

We're bringing you a cross-country crime caper, a swoon-worthy retelling of a classic romance, a sci-fi thriller that predicted our future a little too well, and a game-changing indie hit.

Spring Film Schedule

Don't miss any of the action with the Yale Film Archive's new slate of films, all free and open to the public. This spring will feature brand-new 35mm prints of the #1 and #2 greatest films of all time (according to the latest Sight and Sound critics' poll), along with many other pristine prints, three filmmaker visits, a talk on film preservation, and a few more surprises we'll announce soon.

French 75

Presented in the spring of 2025, French 75 featured a trio of Francophone films from 1975, marking their 50th anniversaries.
