As of 6 April 2015, note that due to a technological error affecting Manuscripts and Archives and the Library Shelving Facility that we cannot guarantee delivery times according to the schedule below. Once a resolution is in place, this page will be updated accordingly. We recommend that researchers request their materials two business days in advance of their visit.
Most of our collections are now located in the Library Shelving Facility, which is in Hamden, Connecticut, about four miles from campus. For collections located there, materials will be retrieved according to the following schedule:
- Materials requested between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM:
Available the same day at approximately 3:30 PM.
- Materials requested between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM:
Available the next business day at approximately 11:00 AM.
- Materials requested after 1:00 PM:
Available the next business day at approximately 3:30 PM.
The staff will retrieve materials from our onsite locations at 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Materials will be available approximately one half hour later. As time and staff permit, we may be able to accommodate requests for on-site materials at other times as well.
