Directions to the Center for Preservation & Conservation

344 Winchester Ave is located on Winchester Ave between Division Street and Munson Street.  The Center for Preservation & Conservation is located at the northeast corner of 344 Winchester Ave building; the Division Street end of the building.

Parking

If you are driving to 344 Winchester, street parking is extremely limited. The Science Park Garage at 276 Winchester Ave (between 25 Science Park and 344 Winchester) is available.  The garage is owned by Winstanley, not Yale, and costs $3.00 per hour with an $18.00 maximum per day.

There is a small number of short-term visitor parking available in the parking lot located at the front of 344 Winchester.  To make arrangements for access contact Murray Harrison, murray.harrison@yale.edu or 203-432-1803 at least one full business day prior to needing access.

Shuttle

Yale shuttle system’s red line services 344 Winchester.   The shuttles run every 15-20 minutes.  There are numerous stops throughout campus.  A map of shuttle locations in real time can be found here.

For those arriving by train, the red line shuttle may be picked up at Union Station bus stop located in front of the station.  It is about a 15 minute ride from the station to 344 Winchester. 

For those coming from Sterling Memorial Library, there are two convenient stops at which to catch the red line shuttle:  The southeast corner of Wall and College Streets or Lock St by the Yale Health Center.

Walking from Sterling Memorial Library

344 Winchester backs up to the Farmington Canal Hike Bike Trail.  It is about a 20-25 minute walk from Sterling Memorial Library.  The trail can be picked up behind the Yale Health Plan, off Lock St.  There are two easy places to exit the trail:  where the trail crosses Munson St; make a right onto Munson for a short walk and make a left onto Winchester Ave then walk in front of the parking garage OR stay on the trail until after passing the parking garage on the right and exit the trail at the driveway/road leading to the southern end of 344 Winchester and its parking lot.  Walk to the front of the building and the north end.
