Decision making: Authority to recommend decisions to Barbara, who will keep LEC informed or bring recommendations to LEC for decision, as she deems appropriate.

Charge:

  • Review ReCAP implementation project plans at a high level to ensure appropriate stakeholder consultation and alignment with library strategic directions.
  • Review ReCAP-related budget information to ensure common understanding of expected cost impacts.
  • Review data about collections (e.g., formats, subjects, locations) and collection management (e.g., shelving capacity, growth rates) to understand implications of ReCAP-related collections decisions.
  • Consider impact of ReCAP participation on existing YUL policies, procedures, and operations and determine where/whether new or revised policies or approaches are needed; recommend and/or refer to other groups as appropriate (e.g., LEC, steering committees).
  • Provide feedback on draft reports and presentations for various audiences.
  • Provide input on external communications (e.g., targeted communications to Yale faculty).
