Yale Library Staff Climate Survey Working Groups
Reports to: Risë Nelson
Committee Charge: The Survey Working Groups are responsible for developing recommendations for the following focal areas which will then inform the library-wide DEIA action plan:
- Assessment, Evaluation, and Reporting: Propose a robust framework for continuous assessment, evaluation, and reporting on the library's overall workplace climate as related to DEIA.
- Building a Culture of Trust, Recognition, and Respect: Develop recommendations that will help the library foster a workplace culture that emphasizes trust, recognition, and respect among all staff members; celebrates individual/group achievement; and fosters belonging.
- Career Advancement for Non-Librarian Staff: Evaluate the current availability and effectiveness of opportunities for promotion/career advancement for non-librarian staff, and propose strategies to create clear, accessible pathways for their professional growth.
- Librarian Promotion Review Process: Evaluate the current promotion review process for librarians to identify areas of potential unfairness or bias, and develop recommendations for a more transparent, equitable, and inclusive process.
- Ongoing Learning & Professional Development: Create recommendations for continuous learning opportunities focused on DEIA that enhance management skills and improve workplace climate.
