Art-deco style illustration depicting a synagogue, with the traditional verse, Psalm 113:3, "From the rising of the sun to its setting, the Lord’s name is to be praised" on the ark.

A Prayer Manual for the Jewish Festivals According to the Customs of the Jewish Community of Trieste, 19th century?

The manuscript, which is written in Hebrew, contains instructions for the congregation and the cantor concerning the customs of prayer of the Jewish community of Trieste, Italy probably in the 19th century.  Each new subject is written in bold, Hebrew, block letters.

Manuscript from the Judaica Collection

An arcade of three scalloped and pointed arches that appears above the text of a Ketubah (a Jewish marriage contract). The ketubah is from Herat, Afghanistan, 19th or early 20th centuries. The text in the center arch is from the Book of Isaiah, chapter 61:10, which discusses the joy and beauty of a bride and groom. From the Yale Library Judaica collection.
