Bergman looks back at bygone summers in the final two films in Through Bergman's Lens: Ingmar Bergman Centenary Film Series. Bosley Crowther asked of Smiles of a Summer Night, "Who would have thought that august Sweden would be sending us a film comedy as witty and cheerfully candid about the complexities of love as any recent French essay on l'amour?: Our closing film, Wild Strawberries, was called by Geoff Andrew "one of Bergman's warmest, and therefore finest films" Introduction by Professor John MacKay. 35mm prints from the Yale Film Archive.
