LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) is an open-source, library-led digital and distributed preservation system hosted by Stanford University. Yale runs a local LOCKSS box running on dedicated infrastructure at Yale to manage and store subscription-based electronic content. Staff interact with the service through the staff web front end. There are methods to provide public access to stored content, but at this time Yale does not utilize this feature.
