Student Organizations and Initiatives

The Yale University Archives seeks to collect documentation concerning student organizations at Yale at all academic levels. Specific topics of interest include:

  • History and development of Yale student organizations
  • Programs, activities, and events of student organizations
  • Student political, social, cultural, and economic activism

Archival Records

Examples of records of interest to the Archives, regardless of format:

  • Annual reports
  • Correspondence
  • Constitutions and bylaws
  • Meeting minutes
  • Membership rosters
  • Mission and policy statements
  • Photographs, clippings, press releases, scrapbooks, ephemera, and audio-visual resources
  • Publications and websites (see Depositing Official Yale Publications)

Office of record

Student organizations, the Office of Student Affairs, Yale College Dean's Office, and the Graduate and Professional Student Center maintain the record copy of documentation concerning student organizations
