Yale Community Voices Archive

The forthcoming Yale Community Voices Archive (YCVA) gathers digital materials related to issues of diversity and inclusion on campus. During the 2015-2016 academic year, a series of protests and teach-ins made the challenges faced by students of color audible and visible to the broader Yale community. YCVA provides a participatory platform in which community stakeholders may upload and annotate the materials related to these protests. The project incorporates the students' use of social media for chronicling these events and responds to requests from scholars and archivists for a user-friendly means of collecting and preserving digital content.

Given the sweeping nature of the digital archive, future curation will be encouraged as part of a broader curricular program to listen, understand, and re-imagine Yale.

The project is under development. For more information or to get in touch with the project team, email <dhlab@yale.edu>.
