Mark your Calendar! NEW EAL workshop series: "Know before You Go: Researching East Asia in U.S."

The East Asia Library is delighted to announce a NEW workshop series, entitled “Know before You Go: Researching East Asia in U.S.” that will be held at the Sterling Memorial Library (SML) in March and April. Librarians and directors from major East Asian collections in the U.S. will be invited to introduce and show off their rare and unique resources, recent acquisitions, digitization projects, travel grants, access policies, etc. at the workshops.

Dec. 2: Reference Citation Management Drop-In Clinic

Are you looking for a better tool to incorporate citations to your research paper? Do you have questions about citation management tool(s) you are currently using? The Yale University Library is hosting a drop-in clinic for citation management programs such as RefWorks, Zotero and EndNote in the Bass Library L06-A from 2-5 pm on December 2. A group of librarians (including East Asian librarians) who are expert on citation management programs will be there to help you with any questions. All are welcome! We hope to see many of you there!

Japanese database on trial: Maisaku (Mainichi Newspaper)

We are pleased to announce that the database for Mainichi Newspaper is available for trial now through October 30, 2015. We had this trial 4 years ago, but the search function has improved a bit.   

Maisaku 毎索 (https://dbs.g-search.or.jp/WMAI/WMAI_ipcu_login.html)

The Maisaku database lets you search all the Mainichi Shinbun 毎日新聞 (formally Tokyo Nichi Nichi Shinbun 東京日日新聞, Osaka Nippo 大阪日報, etc) from 1872 (Meiji 5) to present.
