The Yale University Archives seeks to collect documentation concerning construction and renovation and maintenace of property owned by Yale. Specific topics of interest include:
- Buildings and grounds projects from inception to completion
- Buildings and grounds projects proposed, but not completed
- Strategies, decisions, and planning as related to facilities
Archival Records
Examples of records of interest to the Archives, regardless of format:
- Architectural drawings, including design and programming drawings, sketches and schematic designs, design development drawings, construction drawings, and as-built drawings
- Budgets
- Contracts and agreements
- Correspondence
- Disability access records
- Maps and site plans
- Materials and soil reports
- Meeting minutes
- Photographs and audio-visual resources of construction and renovation progress
- Publications and websites (see Depositing Official Yale Publications)
- Project descriptions, requirements and specifications
- Records of the Corporation’s Buildings and Grounds Committee
- Reports and analyses of the status or condition of buildings and grounds
- RFPs (requests for project bids) and project bids submitted
Office of record
Yale's Office of Facilities and the School of Medicine Office of Facilities Construction and Renovation maintain the record copy of documentation concerning major construction, maintennance and renovation at the university.
