Arts Library research guides are a good starting place for locating relevant online resoures for Art Practice, History of Art, Architecture, Theater Studies, and Drama. Arts Librarians are available for research consultations.
Ensemble@Yale premiered last year with over 12,000 pages of archival theater programs from 1925-2016. It is an experiment that aims to transform historic programs (mostly from the School of Drama and Yale Rep) into searchable text through crowdsourced transcription.
Yale Library now provides access to the Fashion Photography Archive, searchable through the Bloomsbury Fashion Central platform (which includes the Berg Fashion Library).
Decompress from end-of-the-year stress by helping create a database of Yale theater history with Ensemble@Yale! This new tool leverages the power of crowdsourcing to identify and transcribe titles and dates of plays as well as the names of actors, directors, playwrights, set and costume designers, etc.
April 10 - May 26, 2017
The Arts Library's trial access to LibraryStack.org runs through April 30. Library Stack is a growing database of born-digital books, audio, videos, apps, and documents related to contemporary art and design, with intersections into cultural criticism, media studies, architecture and philosophy. Discovery of contemporary art resources, even those available on the open web, can be a challenge, and Library Stack seeks to collocate them, archive them, and make them searchable through additional metadata and an engaging interface.
During Spring Break, the Arts Library will be open 8:30 am-5 pm, Monday through Friday, and closed on Saturday and Sunday. Arts Library Special Collections will be open 1-4 pm. Regular hours resume on Sunday, March 26, at 2 pm. We wish you a relaxing break!
