Yale School of Art, 36 Edgewood Ave, New Haven, CT

Part of each of the orientation sessions we conduct in the Arts Library touches on finding images, but what happens when you want to use an image you've found? Published in February of this year, the College Art Association's Code of Best Practices in Fair Use for the Visual Arts is an essential resource for those who make use of images in scholarly and creative work. The Code describes situations when a "fair use" argument may apply as an exception to copyright.
The new exhibition of the Yale School of Art focuses on Josef Albers, influential 20th century painter, designer, and teacher. Visitors can see “Search Versus Re-Search: Josef Albers, Artist and Educator” at the School’s 32 Edgewood Avenue Gallery from September 8 to November 28, 2015.
Our librarians have already met many new students through orientation sessions, and look forward to meeting more of you in the next few weeks. Regular academic year hours resume on Wednesday, September 2, for both the Arts Library and Arts Library Special Collections.
Here is the Arts Databases list we have mentioned in orientation sessions (it’s also a permanent link on the Arts Library homepage).
