Latin American Public Opinion Project
Survey datasets from LAPOP, the Latin American Public Opinion Project, are now accessible to Yale faculty, affiliated researchers, staff, and students. You can access LAPOP via the Library's StatCat site.
Since the 1970s, Mitchell Seligson, his colleagues and students have systematically surveyed the citizens of Latin America on their political views—specifically on democratic values and their behaviors related to democracy. Some surveys were also conducted outside of Latin America. Geographic coverage includes Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru, Paraguay, Chile, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, Guyana, Canada, United States, Israel, Madagascar, and Albania.
