Bones in the Archives: Medical and Health Special Collections at Yale.

Wednesday July 16, 2:00pm Sterling Memorial Library International Room Interested in knowing more about Yale's collections on medicine, health, sexuality, science, and disease? Join Melissa Grafe, John R. Bumstead Librarian for Medical History, and Bill Landis, Head of Public Services in Manuscripts & Archives, for an interactive session that begins with a discussion of the great medical/health collections at Yale and how these collections can be used in teaching and research. Yale's medical/health collections come in a variety of languages and formats, and span topics that include war, eugenics and intelligence testing, tobacco and patent medicine advertising, transgender issues, photography, atomic bombs, disease, international public health, and much, much more. Following this discussion, participants will have an opportunity to interact with a selection of materials drawn from the Medical Historical Library and Manuscripts and Archives, providing a taste of the rich resources available to the world. The talk is sponsored by SCOPA and is free and open to the public.
