Evidence Based Practice for Everyone

On Monday, August 4th at 2pm in the SML International Room, Janene Batten, Nursing Reference Librarian and Janis Glover, Senior Reference Librarian at the Yale Medical Library, will talk on evidence-based practice. This originated in the field of medicine and has grown to encompass all disciplines including librarianship. In the health sciences, the basic principle is that practice is based on research that has been done well, the clinician¹s experience, as well as the patient¹s preference for treatment. It recognizes that best practice is ever evolving and should not be based on tradition. This principal can be applied to any discipline. Come and find out why this is important and how you can apply this process to your own work and practice. This talk is sponsored by SCOPA and is free and open to the public.
